Jewelry Care

Our pieces are considered fashion jewellery. We disclose known materials and finishes in each product description so you can choose what feels right for you.

We select our materials with comfort and everyday wear in mind. However, individual sensitivities vary, and no jewellery can be guaranteed to be allergy-free. If you have a known sensitivity to a particular metal or material, please review the product details carefully or contact us before purchasing.

Everyday Care

A little care will help your handmade jewellery stay beautiful for longer. Treat it thoughtfully, wear it gently and store it carefully between wears.

  • Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Avoid seawater, pools and prolonged damp conditions.
  • Avoid direct contact with water, sweat, perfume, lotion, sunscreen, cosmetics, hairspray and household cleaning products.
  • Keep jewellery away from prolonged direct sunlight, extreme heat and humidity.
  • Avoid pulling, bending, dropping or knocking pieces against hard surfaces.
  • Put jewellery on last when getting ready and take it off first at the end of the day.
  • After wearing, gently wipe each piece with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Store pieces separately in a cool, dry place to help prevent scratching, tangling and tarnishing.

Stretch Bracelets

We use elastic cord with limited stretch to help keep the beads securely strung. Roll your bracelet gently over your hand when putting it on and taking it off, rather than pulling the beads apart or stretching the bracelet wide open.

For a secure finish, we tie a substantial knot and tuck it inside the À DEMAIN logo bead. If the knot becomes visible, gently ease it back inside the logo bead without overstretching the cord. If it resists, do not force it.

Elastic cord naturally weakens with wear and over time. For frequently worn bracelets, we recommend replacing the cord approximately every two to three years. This is a maintenance guideline, not a guaranteed lifespan.

Check the cord regularly. If it becomes loose, stretched, frayed or damaged, stop wearing the bracelet and have it restrung before the cord breaks. A bracelet may need restringing sooner depending on use and condition.

Restringing and Redesigns at Markets

When we are attending a market in your city, you can book a free on-site restringing appointment, subject to our market schedule and available appointment times.

At our market stall, we can also help you coordinate or modify our existing designs where possible. You can bring back a previously purchased piece to discuss a new design. Redesign charges are based on any additional beads used; we will agree on the changes and price with you before proceeding. Free restringing and paid redesigns are separate services.

To discuss a request or arrange an appointment, email ademain2023@gmail.com. Please start your subject with “À DEMAIN Customer”, followed by your request or order number, to help us spot your enquiry.

Plated & Enamel Jewellery

Gold-plated finishes may gradually soften or fade with wear. Avoid rubbing, polishing compounds and abrasive cloths, which may remove or damage the plating.

Clean enamel and plated surfaces gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak, scrub or use jewellery dips, chemical cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners.

Natural Stones, Pearls & Shell

Natural stones, pearls and shell may vary slightly in colour, pattern and texture. These variations are part of the character of the material.

Some stones may be dyed, heat-treated or otherwise enhanced, as disclosed in the individual product description. Keep these materials away from prolonged moisture, direct sunlight, heat and chemicals to help preserve their colour and finish.

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak or use ultrasonic, steam or chemical cleaning methods.

Earrings

Handle earring posts and backs gently and store them separately to help prevent bending, scratching or loss.

For hygiene reasons, keep posts clean and dry. Avoid applying alcohol, perfume or cleaning products directly to enamel, plating, pearls, shell or stones.
